A Play we shall see

We have had a busy weekend.

Meimei had a ballet performance and so we were just dropping her off and picking her up from rehearsals.

So in between one of those pick ups, I managed to find some tickets to catch Wild Rice's "Monkey Goes West."

D and I love local theatre and we are exceptionally big fans of Wild Rice's productions. We were avid fans since he took me to catch "Emily of Emerald Hill" in Melbourne when we started courting. I mean, how can anyone resist Ivan Heng as Emily?!

So this time round, I thought we'll take our boys along. We love nothing more than exposing our kids to things we love. Plus they are old enough to sit through a longer production.

The play was a hoot! We loved the local references and the jokes were hilariously relevant to our current affairs.

The highlight for me was the location. I've always loved the Victoria Theatre. I spent my childhood going there for performances and even acted a small role in Noah's Ark there when I was little. I love the Grand old Dame! She has held a lot of nostalgic memories for me. And it's heartening to see her restored beautifully.

I was taking a picture of my boys when an usher asked if we would like a family portrait. And he took a beautiful one by the glass window.

Now I can't wait to go back there for more productions. And take my kids along too!
