Sleep with Me, Daddy

Every night, whenever bedtime rolls around, the boys will always holler 'Daddy can you please sleep with us?"

It has become a ritual of sorts since they've gotten their own room and D would always obliged.

It would be an hour or so before he would come out and sometimes he would even fall asleep on the mattress.

I used to ask him why and how does he have the patience to do it every night?

He would say, "well, one day, they are going to grow up and they won't need us around that much anymore. It's moments like these that I would miss."

Moments. It's what makes a childhood, isn't it?

And that's why parenting is much easier as a tag team.

  1. That's exactly what tehpeng says! I'm all eager to train the children to sleep on their own but he's the one who goes - it won't be long when they won't want to sleep w us anymore.

    And the patience!

It must be something they teach at TCH eh? ;)

    1. Hahaha! Must be something in the water there man! But yes! In order for my sanity, I prefer that they sleep on their own. It's much easier! ;)

  2. it seems like the dads do have more patience than us moms. maybe they don't get the frustrating bits as much as we do eh. but yes, i agree..parenting is unthinkable to me without the support of the husband. it's just too tough!

    1. I guess we always get the shorter end of the stick when it comes to the kids that it's the last straw for us when it comes to them mucking around at bedtime! Daddies usually get away with the usual disciplining! :) so maybe that explains the level of patience.
