When our highly anticipated trip to Tokyo was cancelled when Japan was hit with the tri disasters, D and I hopped onto a plane that led us to Hong Kong.
I must admit that I wasn't really looking forward to it because Japan has been on my mind for ages and it was truly disappointing when it didn't happen.
However, we did have a good time in Hong Kong.
The landscape has changed so much in the last seven years but we had such a good time just eating our way through the city and shopping, of course!
Getting to the city from the airport was easy peasy. If you travel in groups of two or more, you get a discount on the Airport Express. Buy your tickets and 24 minutes later, you are right in the heart of the city.
We stayed at this boutique hotel in Wellington Street, on Hong Kong Island. It was tiny but so accessible to all the hotspots of HK. LKF and Soho was 5 minutes away. We had eateries at our doorstep. Plus, there was shopping everywhere! IFC was a 10 minute walk away and Queens Street Central is 5 minutes away. It was perfect!
It was such a good break for us! I can't believe it's been that long since we've last been there but it's definitely on my shortlist for our next holiday!
