The Apartment
It's official... we've finally moved into our new apartment four weeks ago... It's so so beautiful and peaceful to be living by ourselves...
Darien and I have been living with three other housemates for the last two years. We had heaps of fun living together but as time went by, everyone starts to accumulate a whole heap of stuff. And with 2 cats, 1 dog, 5 people and shitload of things... it was a clear indication that we have to start searching for another space.
So after 2 months of intensive house hunting (and by that, I mean, scouting for every possible apartment every weekend), we found an apartment that we both love... We are still by the harbour, living in the same area. This time, we have a two bedroom abode with two bathrooms. Every room opens up to an individual, private balcony. (That's right! I've got three balconies) The BESTEST thing is that my main bedroom has a WIR and an ensuite... perfect for getting ready.
I was watching the sixth season of SATC (Went DVD shopping the other day and got three box sets...) and it struck me that my furniture is starting to resemble that of Miranda's apartment. Scary! And the bed that I'm planning to buy is exactly like hers as well.... I didn't think that it was all that similar but hey! I like what I bought...
So anyway... back to the apartment... I think when the unpacking's done... we would be throwing a housewarmin.... hopefully it wouldn't be too long... *winkz*
Hair Update!
Oh! Forgot to mention that I went to highlight my mane last saturday and now it's all looking fabulous.
I wore the new cut black for a week and realize that it's too harsh for my face... so I decided to stick with my appointment of colouring. Was telling my boss that I hope my hairstylist wouldn't shock me again.
But I'd reckon that she did an excellent job! I've got brownish red base with blond highlights... and it just looks amazing after straightening... :o) Darien likes it... He thinks that I look really different from before.
Hair Cut!
It was the time to get the hair chopped off and I'd reckon I've gone to a place that my hair had never gone before. I went to the salon called Biba on Brunswick St, which was highly recommended by my friends. To this hair stylist that is also high on a friend's list.
So there I was, at last Saturday's afternoon,@ the salon explaining that the type of hair cut that I wanted. I must admit that she had a pretty cool interpretation of what I wanted. For it turned out to be quite a funky do.
It's a little hard to describe the look but it kinda suits this summer. I've got a short fringe and the hair's cut to the shoulder... It looks really doll like. Some people did like my old look better though... but for now... I think it's my funky do for the month...

Melbourne Cup!
Had a really interesting experience yesterday... I went to the Melbourne Cup. It's the time of the year where ladies everywhere would scout for the best dress and the prettiest hat to don for that ONE event. I swear the amount of money spent is rather obscene...
It started off as a really sunny day. We got up at 8 in the morning... Got dressed and made up... spent some time doing my hair and choosing a dress. The men decided that it would be the colourful one, "to suit the atmosphere of the day." in their exact words. We then headed for brekkie at Laurent's. The three of us had a nice and relaxed meal, sitting at the cafe waiting for time to pass cos we were meeting the guys at 10 at Flinders Street Station.
Public Transportation was the travelling choice for the day. I'm pretty certain that if we drive, we'll never get there. It was quite an experience just taking a train with heaps of people wearing funky dresses and all the feathers on their hair. The ladies were looking fabulous and it's really great to see the guys all suited up for the day.
We spent the rest of the day just drinking champagne and betting on horses. Darien had a pretty good streak though. Seemed to be picking the right horses for most of the races. My original plan was to get drunk by mid day! But that did not seem to happen cos I was too excited by the horses. Nothing beats the thrill of picking the right horse...
Special Mention: I thought you looked really good yesterday, Babe. I'd reckon that you were quite a charmer too. Makes me wanna keep staring at you.
Next year... we are going to bring thongs to the party (to save our aching feet) and we are going to bring a picnic too! Till then.... I guess I'll be looking for my next dress.
